Is it free?

Yes! Text messages sent from CMC MAME are free for subscribers at every stage of the program, including the SMS you send to sign up.

SMS content is developed by leading Russian experts in the sphere of obstetrics/gynecology and neonatology, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Health and Social Development.

This is a Russian project based on international experience that was created based on a dialogue within the framework of the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission. SMS content is developed in accordance with Russian Federation requirements, protocols, and legislation, and in accordance with the needs of Russian women.

What will the text messages be about?

The text messages will provide useful information about birth certificates, healthy eating, avoiding smoking and drinking during pregnancy, work and pregnancy, breastfeeding, psychological and emotional health, physical activity during pregnancy, and key stages of development in an infant’s first year of life.

Do I need to buy an additional mobile phone or SIM card to get text messages?

No. Each SMS will be sent right to your cell phone, and no additional SIM cards are needed. In general, no additional equipment or technical support will be necessary.

Is this dangerous for the health of a pregnant woman or her future child?

All you have to do is follow the ordinary rules of safe cell phone use and follow the recommendations of your doctor, and there won’t be any danger.

How do I subscribe to CMC MAME (Text4baby Russia)?

In order to start receiving messages, you should send an SMS with the code word ÌÀÌÀ in Russian to the short number 5253, as well as the due date or birth date of your child. After that, you’ll start receiving personalized text messages in accordance with your baby’s age. You can also register online at www.ñìñìàìå.ðô.

How do I unsubscribe?

You can unsubscribe at any time by sending a free SMS to the number 5253 with the word ÑÒÎÏ.

What information about myself will I have to provide in order to become a subscriber?

All you need to tell us is your baby’s due date or birth date in order to become a subscriber. After that you will begin receiving text messages in accordance with that information. You’ll receive text messages on the number that your registration text was sent from.

Will the information I give you during registration remain confidential?

Of course. We act in strict accordance with Russian Federation legislation about personal datat.

How often will I receive text messages?

Once or twice a week during the term of your pregnancy and throughout the first year of your child’s life.

Won’t these text messages bother me and my baby?

As a subscriber, you’ll be able to indicate the time when you’d like to receive text messages, so that they won’t disturb you or your baby.

Who will ensure the safety of my personal data?

The program takes risk to personal data into account. In Russia, the database of personal information about subscribers will be protected by leading Russian specialists from the government and public organizations, strictly in accordance with Russian Federation legislation about personal data.

I want to receive text messages about issues relating to pregnancy and childcare, but I don’t want to get ads or spam. What is your program’s policy on this?

There will be absolutely no spam in any SMS you receive from us, no direct or indirect advertising, product placement, or any other commercial/marketing messages, or promotion of any goods or services. Nor will any text messages recommend any specific medical procedures, mention any medications, or recommend any private medical institutions.

Would it be possible for the father of my child or another family member to get these text messages as well?

Absolutely! Anyone who is interested can subscribe. Receiving these text messages will help your family provide you with emotional and physical support during this very important time in your life. What’s more, we are planning to develop SMS content specifically for fathers and family members in the near future.

How will I find out when the CMC MAME program has started, and I can sign up?

A widespread information campaign will begin shortly in Russian cities, which will acquaint everyone with this program.

Who is running this project?

The project is being implemented through the combined efforts of Russian government and public organizations, with the support of Russian and international business partners.
